Wisam Sedawi is a postdoctoral researcher in the Pedagogical Research Laboratory, with a PhD in Science and Technology education from Ben-Gurion University of the Negev. She is broadly interested in cultural and local contexts and challenges in science and environmental education. Her research deals with student and teacher learning processes, focusing on issues such as: place- based education pedagogy, sense of space and connectedness to nature in socio-cultural-political contexts; teachers’ informal on-the-job professional development. In the next two years (2021/22- 2022/23) she will join the research group of Prof. Angela Calabrese-Barton from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
