Resilience, Vulnerability and Adaptation Climate Change Effects on Plant-Insect Interactions
Convener: Merav Seifen, BIDR
These sessions will explore the intricate dynamics of plant-insect interactions under the pressure of climate change. As climate changes are intensified, ecosystems increasingly affected by prolonged dry periods, increased temperatures and extreme weather events. These changes threaten not only biodiversity but also essential ecosystem services provided by plants and insects, such as pollination and herbivory regulation. The session will address how climate-induced stressors influence the resilience and adaptability of plant-insect relationships, examining long-term implications for ecosystem stability. Presenters will share recent findings on the impact of these factors on plant-insect relationships, offering a critical perspective on the future of ecosystem functionality in a changing world.
