Five Years of African Sustainable Communities
Conveners: Tamar Golan Africa Centre and MA program in ASC at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev
For the past five years, the African Sustainable Communities program at Ben Gurion University of the Negev has been bringing together students from around the world, creating a unique learning environment to tackle the complex issue of sustainability in community development. Since its inception, this MA program has educated approximately 100 students, most of whom have come from across Africa. A significant number of graduates have progressed to higher degrees or are working in fields related to sustainable development. The panel will bring together a selected number of graduates from the African Sustainable Communities program to discuss the impact the program has had on their lives and careers, as well as discuss how they are engaging with aspects related to sustainability.
