Cross Border Desert Research- Science and Collaboration
Conveners: Rina Kedem, Dead Sea & Arava Center & The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, & Suleiman Halasah, University of Oxford & IGreens
Join local and international experts in exploring transboundary environmental cooperation. Whether such collaboration is motivated by science or a wish for good relations, it can serve the wellbeing of the environment and communities. Nevertheless, we must assess its contribution to community wellbeing and desert literacy.
The session will introduce and discuss theories and case studies of environmental cooperation through desert research. Our speakers will present case studies from around the world, as well as Jordan, Israel and the West Bank and discuss the challenges and opportunities of such collaboration.
